The wedding venue has on-site parking for approximately 20 vehicles. Parking is first come, first served, so feel free to arrive a bit early if you’d like to secure a spot. The entrance for on-site venue parking is on North Jackson Avenue. Look for the gravel driveway on the west side of N. Ballard Avenue, just south of The Olde House. If the lot is full, additional unpaved parking is available two houses north of The Olde House. Enter this reserved parking area through the gravel driveway with the black metal ranch gate off N. Ballard Avenue. There is also public parking 1–2 blocks south in Downtown Wylie. This is a cute area to wander and window shop if you have extra time before or after the wedding. Please do not park in the Catholic church lot across the street, as we do not have permission to use their parking. The venue also has one on-site EV charger available for wedding guests.
Outside & Inside… Barring stormy or extremely cold weather, our wedding ceremony will take place outdoors. Please dress accordingly. And because we know anything below 60° feels chilly to true Texans, we’ll have extra blankets and a few heaters available just in case the temperature drops. Inside: The reception will be indoors and either cozily heated or nicely cooled—depending on whatever Texas decides to do that day.
We will be having a reception following the wedding ceremony. Light refreshments and snacks will be available. And of course… wedding cake!
We have chosen, at the bride’s request, not to have a traditional bar or serve mixed drinks at the reception. Instead, we’ll be focusing on a variety of non-alcoholic options, including cozy winter drinks, refreshing chilled beverages, and sparkling selections. For toasts, we will provide non-alcoholic sparkling juice so everyone can join in the celebration. If you’d like to toast with wine or champagne, you are more than welcome to bring your own—after all, even Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding. We kindly ask that you serve yourself discreetly in the Olde House kitchen area, then enjoy your drink responsibly anywhere on site.
If you haven’t checked out the Olde.House website (don’t add .com to the end), we’d encourage you to do so. Olde House is a 1917 Craftsman home. It was considered a mansion in its day. The owners of the Airbnb have l renovated and redone the home in the style of the 1920s & 1930s.
Guests are welcome to explore the first floor of the house and enjoy the outdoor spaces. Our families will be staying on site, so we kindly ask that you do not go into the second-floor guest rooms or the private bridal and groom’s suites. Bathrooms for guest use will be clearly marked. As a general rule, if a door is closed, please don’t enter that room.
