Barrie and Sawyer met through two of their closest friends, Siv and Graham, who encouraged them both to join the group for a fun night out. Before heading out, Barrie and Siv stopped by Sawyer’s apartment to say "hi" to Griffey (Sawyer always knew that dog would help him land his dream girl at some point). From there, they met up with Sawyer and the rest of the Miami boys and somehow managed to get to know each other over the deafening music at Woodie’s. At the end of the night, Barrie was brave enough to send Sawyer a message on Instagram, which led to a short conversation, an exchange of phone numbers, and the beginning of something neither of them could have seen coming. That was just before Memorial Day weekend in 2022, a weekend where they ended up spending every single day together. They laughed with friends, spent time one-on-one to get to know each other, and ultimately felt like that one weekend was meant to last a lifetime. Monday night came with a goodbye and no real plan, but a certainty that they would see each other again soon. What followed were constant laughs, inseparable days that turned into weeks, then months, and now years. Barrie even attended a family wedding in Findlay as Sawyer’s +1 within a month of starting to date, a move that most would consider far too quick for a budding relationship, but when you know, you know. From the very beginning, their lives intertwined seamlessly. Their friends, families, interests, and adventures all becoming shared. They’ve continued to move through life together the same way they did back in May of 2022, and they couldn’t be more excited for what’s next.
