Groom's Version: We met, dated, and got engaged. Wedding to follow. Bride's Version: Garrett and I met through mutual friends playing ultimate frisbee in the Twin Cities. We spend time together hiking and at different gatherings with friends, where spending time together and laughing together was just easy. We started dating during the pandemic. Over the next year, we had the opportunity to grow closer to one another through spending time together and through being part of the same small group at church. I introduced him to Cribbage and Scrabble, he introduced me to bouldering and Captain America: Civil War. Turns out we are opposites in many things, but when we strike the right balance can bring out the best in each other. Garrett proposed on June 26, his birthday. We went for a walk at Boom Island Park. After about an hour of exploring the nooks and crannies of the park, he brought me to a train bridge on Nicollet Island, where he asked me to marry him. Garrett found a place that felt small town, nature-y, and quaint (which I love) with the CItyscape in the background (which he loves). He found a balance between places we both love. We are so excited to enter this journey of marriage. We invite you to join us in praying for our marriage. May the Lord work in both of us, that we continue to behold His glory and splendor through big adventures and through the day-to-day, that we balance out one another's strengths and weaknesses, and that we make much of His name.
