We are getting married!

We met on a cold windy night, at this Irish pub back at Penn State, but we have been texting for about two weeks non-stop, Tania was in no rush to set a date, you can guess how Anthony felt... Wisely, however, pushing our first date back a few days helped us dodge the Valentine’s Day first date (though Anthony could have pulled this off, or so he says). Anthony: For me, she was one of those people you swipe right on and think, "Man, I really hope I match with her." But there was also that sense of - "We'll definitely match." When we started talking, right away her sense of humor came through. She was hilarious. In fact, I'd say about 90% of our first conversation just consisted of us riffing back and forth on each other's comments. No "get to know ya" type questions, no "what are you looking for" - just pure, unadulterated snark. I remember thinking at one point, "Shouldn't we be having the 'get to know ya, what are you looking for' type conversations?" But it was all just so much fun. Tania: I think I picked the spot, it was a place I knew well and felt comfortable in, it was this Irish pub where they serve one of my favorite types of food (fries!) on a large tray, which I proceeded to eat with no inhibitions, no point in playing a part, I am who I am. I got there early and got a drink to wait for him, I remember one of the things we used to joke about was how tall I was in comparison to him, I made a point of not standing up from the booth when he got there just to mess with him. I remember he couldn't take his eyes off me. I finally had to ask him if he wanted to kiss me because I did, I don't even remember hearing his response, his eyes said it all.

Nos conocimos en una noche fría de febrero en un bar Irlandes cerca de Penn State. PEro ya habiamos estado texteandonos por un par de semanas antes, Tania no tenia mucha prisa ne decidir cuando sería la primera cita en persona, se pueden imaginar como se sentía Anthony al respecto. Felizmente, postergar la cita nos hizo evitar la presiín de la cita de San Valentín (aunque Anthony habría podido sobrevivirla sin problemas, o al menos eso dice él). Anthony: Para mi, ella era una de esas chicas por las que deslizas hacia la derecha y piensas "Ay, realmente espero que hagamos match." Pero tambien había un poco de - "Por supuesto seremos un match." Cuando comenzamos a hablar, lo primero que salió a la luz fue su sentido del humor. Es diverstidísima. En realidad un 90% de nuestras primeras conversaciones fue un ir y venir en bromas y comentarios sarcásticos. No hubo "preguntar para conocernos", no hubo "qué es lo que esperas de una relación" - solo pura risa! Recuerso pensar, ¿no deberíamos estar teneindo las conversaciones imporantes y las típicas preguntas para conocernos? pero nos estabamos divirtiendo tanto que todo simplemente fluía. Tania: Creo que yo fui la que eligió el lugar de la cita, era un bar que conocía bien, donde me sentía comoda. Me encantaba porque servían una fuente gigante de papas fritas super baratas, que me devoré en el transcurso de la cita sin tratar de parecer digna y educada, soy quien soy. Llegué super temprano y me pedí un trago para esperarlo, recuerdo que cuando estabamos texteando estuvimos bromeando sobre como yo era mas chiquita que él, así que cuando llegó me quedé sentada por fastidiar para se quedara pensando sobre cuanto era la diferencia. Recuerdo que no podía quitarme los ojos de encima, tanto así que finalmente le pregunté si me quería dar un beso, no necesité escuchar la respuesta, sus ojos me djeron que si!
