In a very isolated and lonely freshman year of college, we both separately decided to surrender our first college summer to the Lord and embark on a 6 week long mission trip ... little did we know our future spouse would be waiting for us when we got there. Due to Cru being very segregated during Covid, Jack and I never got the opportunity to meet each other that year despite living in the same dorm and having overlapping friend circles! God knew the timing that we needed, and our love story is one that I am so proud of. I met Jack in DIA as we were headed to Juneau, Alaska for an adventure of a lifetime. He can tell you about how nervous he got when he saw me sitting in those seats waiting for our plane to arrive :) Throughout that summer we were surrounded by an amazing group of friends, immersed in a very wanderlust culture, and inspired by the spiritually dense community we found ourselves in. We both got to know each other very very well in a very short amount of time, and by the end of those 6 weeks, I knew he was the one! The day we got back to Colorado he asked me on a date ... and well, the rest is history. Before we were dating I made a list of qualities I wanted in a future husband and I had a friend encourage me to pick a top 3, and never settle for anyone that doesn't possess those. My top 3 were: someone that loves the Lord more than he loves me, someone that is a leader (both in his personal life and for the benefit of our future family), and someone that craves adventure (hey I didn't want to marry a couch potato). I am confident that Jack embodiees all 3 of those! God consistently answers my prayers, and I know that we will live a wildy fun life together!
