We're getting married

We met at Katie and Abe Harman's wedding on October 1, 2016. Jeff was a groomsman and Laura was a bridesmaid. During dinner at the wedding, Jeff turned to Laura and said, "Isn't your name... Barnobi?" Laura was confused for a moment, until she responded, "Aren't you that guy that smiles a lot?" We had crossed paths many times before - going to the same concerts in Charlotte during high school, and the same parties at NC State in Raleigh. Over the next couple of months (thanks to Laura's work travel to Raleigh), we started dating long-distance between Charlotte and Raleigh.

For over a year, Laura maintained the most immaculate Google Calendar, which planned where she and her dog (confusingly) named "Raleigh" were at all times - between Charlotte, Raleigh, and traveling for work. We loved our weeks and weekends together, and decided to combine homes. We KonMari-ed and redecorated as we became a little family. We have happily been living in sin since January 2018.

Jeff told Laura to not make plans for this day, because he had a special surprise. He drove Laura to the Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham, NC where they met up with a photographer. It appeared that these family pictures would Laura's Christmas gift for this year - until the end of the hour session. Jeff got down on one knee and proposed!
