Our love story began like all good modern love stories: digitally, with a swipe to the right. Soon after, on a hot and sweaty June day in Soho: boy meets girl. A casual brunch turned into hours of sharing, flirting and laughing. It wasn't long before our weekends became shared adventures. Pastimes soon developed on the streets of New York City, on the beach, in the cafe, and at the park.
On a crisp fall day, we became engaged. In a private moment, on a bench in Gramercy Park (the only private park in New York City), he surprised me by getting down on one knee and pulling out a ring. We celebrated in the best way we could - with good food and good wine at the fabulous Maialino restaurant. Now we're thrilled to include our closest family and friends in the celebration of the life we are building together.
After cancelling our wedding date several times, we knew that we didn't want to wait until we could safely have a wedding to make our union official. So, we decided to get hitched covid-style: in our living room with an officiant and immediate family members in attendance via Zoom. Charlie wore his best puppy bow tie and barked right on queue when we were pronounced husband and wife. We wrote our own vows for the intimate affair. We popped Dom Perignon and ate homemade red velvet wedding cake to celebrate. It was far from traditional, but it was a very unique and cozy way to finally tie the knot.
We also knew that we didn't want to wait to start our family. On March 26th 2021, there it was: two little pink lines indicating a positive pregnancy test. We were thrilled! Many months later, on a cold winter night, baby Alex joined us on 12/8/21 at 3:54am weighing in at 7lbs 9oz and 21.25 inches long. He's an easy-going, adorable baby who always wakes up smiling. He loves to kick and coo. He's got his daddy's eyes and his mommy's nose. We are so in love with our newest addition and can't wait for you to meet him!
