How do we know these people standing beside us??

Taralyn Barnett

Matron of Honor

Taralyn is my sister, but she is so much more than that. She has been beside me my entire life and we have grown so much together. She has been such a rock especially through the craziness that is adulting. There is something about sisterhood and sharing pretty much all of life’s stages together. It may be a little bumpy, but truly we have seen it ALL together and I’m so glad that I have her to share it with. She is so confident, organized and caring. I’m so grateful that we are able to spend more time together as adults. I’m also thankful for all of her hard work as my Matron of Honor on top of her responsibilities professionally and as a mother. I know it couldn’t be easy, but she makes it look so seamless.

Joseph Miller

Best Man

Joe was James neighbor growing up on Lucasville Rd. They met when James was 6 years old. Joe is basically a brother to James - "his ride or die". Hangout with them once and you will be able to tell that they have a deeply rooted bond. You can usually find them together cracking a joke and cracking a beer (more like Jack and Coke).

Samantha Schambach

Bridesmaid

Samantha is James’s sister. As soon as I met her she was very welcoming of me. She has treated me like a sister from day one and we have grown so close over the last 4 years. She was married to Thomas Hurt, one of James’s, groomsmen just a few short months ago! I am so very thankful for her help with navigating not only wedding planning, but also life.

Thomas Hurt

Groomsman

James met Tommy at one of the famous Schambach parties. Tommy was always in a good mood and immediately fit in with everyone. He began dating my sister and clicked into our family quickly. I couldn't be more happy to have him as a brother-in-law and to stand beside me as a groomsman.

Danielle Hinkley

Bridesmaid

Dani and I met during my first chiropractic position after I returned home to Virginia from the Midwest. Little did she know when she first met my Dad that she would become best friends with his daughter! She has been beside me through very transformative times in both of our lives, from single ladies to married ones. From bootcamps to early Saturday grocery runs. I’m so very thankful to have her beside me as I marry “my James”.

Melvin Wolfe

Groomsman

Melvin is one of my core friends. We met playing college football at Ferrum College. He always came across as unapproachable, but in my second year in college we became roomates. Once we spent more time together I saw how many similar interests we shared which deepened our friendship. I know he will always have my back and will support Kayla and I as one of my groomsman.

Lacie Drennan

Bridesmaid

Lacie and I were inseparable in chiropractic school - I mean it - inseparable. We lived together, studied together, Starbucks’d together, jammed out in the car, and I even tried to workout with her a couple of times… I mostly let her do that by herself since she is basically a professional athlete. I could not have made it through without her. I’m so very thankful that she is always up for a phone chat or vent session and that she was willing to travel to be here by my side for the wedding festivities!

Timothy Smith

Groomsman

Timothy and I formed a core friendship at Ferrum College. We met my freshman year, but strengthened our friendship my junior year at our iconic parties at 202 Moore. I remember that when I was having a rough patch in college, Tim would continue to visit me even after he graduated. I knew from then on out he had my back and this something that I will always be grateful for. I always knew I would ask Tim to stand beside me as a groomsman.

Rachel Callahan

Bridesmaid

Rachel and I have been great friends since Elementary school. We have done pretty much all of life’s stages together. From sleepovers as kids, teens, then college roommates freshman year to now navigating adulthood together. She has been by my side and I’m so very thankful to have her as one of my dearest friends. I admire her drive, passion and dedication to her friends and family and am so very thankful to have her stand beside me through another of life’s milestones.

Ivan Eames

Groomsman

My brother from another mother - I also met Ivan playing football at Ferrum College. We formed a quick connection due to the fact that we both played the offensive tackle position. We were able to understand the trials and tribulations of a student athlete. Ivan helped me make the decision to change my major to accounting. He has always been a great source of advice and I appreciate the deep discussions that we have. His mom made me banana pudding- so I had to put him in my wedding.... All jokes aside - He was the first one to tell me to "keep that girl" after he first met Kayla and that she was one of the good ones. Of course I took his advice and he is very deserving of being by my side as I marry her.

Lauren Garner

Bridesmaid

Lauren and I have been close friends since middle school. We both hit it off quickly as we are outgoing and LOVE to dance. She and Rachel have been best friends since babyhood and I’m so thankful that they have allowed me to be their tricycle wheel since I moved back to Virginia in 2017. She is a rockstar mother and friend. She is so very caring and I’m so thankful she has welcomed me into her inner circle over the years.

William Harriman

Groomsman

I didn't meet Will until I moved to Richmond, VA. Will was a very good friend of Tim's and we met at a concert at the National venue. I remember that night well because Will took a really bad fall and hurt his arm. Tim and I made sure that he got home safely and Will pointed out that good friends that genuinely care are hard to come by. We have continued to grow our friendship since that day. Will has been my go to reference for the best food, drinks and new adventures to be had in Richmond. He's also a killer D&D gamemaster. Will is a great friend and I'm grateful that he agreed to stand beside me on my wedding day.

Katie Allen

Bridesmaid

Katie and I met early on in High School and we quickly became inseparable. Between getting in trouble for giggling in the absolute WORST math class, to sleepovers and laughing so hard we cried many times. Katie is so very kind and creative. Im so thankful for our friendship and thank you for being by my side all these years!

Colin Spears

Groomsman

Colin is one of my oldest and dearest friends. We met playing recreational soccer as kids. He was one of the first kids that I got up the courage to ask to be my friend. We would hangout at each other's houses. We grew passions for outdoor sports activities, and intense matches of super smash brothers. Colin, Joe and I coined our name of "the Tripod" as an inseparable trio as we grew up and became adults. I can't imagine not having Colin here as we have been through so many of life's stages together and I look forward to many more.

Sarah Blair

Bridesmaid

Sarah and I have been the best of friends since we were 12. We have frequently lived on the literal opposite side of the country from one another most of our adult life, but we have that type of connection that we can just pick back up where we left off as if no time has past each and every time. I’m so thankful that Sarah has been such a constant in my life for 2 whole decades now. I remember sleepovers where we stayed up all night making packs about never loosing touch and dreaming of these life milestones. Thinking back to those moments, I can barely believe so much time has passed. It was so surreal standing by her side as she married the man of her dreams, and now I’m so thankful she is able to be by mine as well.

Garrett Shapiro

Groomsman

Shapy as we affectionately refer to him. I met him through a mutual friend, Zachary Schupe, and we began renting his parent's home in Chesterfield. If I didn't rent from his family I might not have met Kayla as she lived 15 minutes away from their home. His family has always treated me as family and I cannot thank them enough for their hospitality during this time. Though our friendship is newer than many of the other groomsman. When I talk to him I feel like we have known each other for our entire lives. He has integrated into our friend group seamlessly. After just moving to Florida, I thank him (and his wife, Magan) for traveling back to Virginia to support Kayla and I.
