Things To Do

There’s plenty to see and do while you're in town—especially in downtown Tuscaloosa, where you’ll find great restaurants, local shops, and beautiful spots to walk and explore. We’ve recommended several of our favorite places to eat, along with fun things to do while you’re here. We’re so excited to share this special place with you—thank you for being part of our celebration!

Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium

920 Paul William Bryant Drive, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401

If you're looking to explore while you're in town, we highly recommend taking a tour of Bryant-Denny Stadium, home of the Alabama Crimson Tide! Whether you're a college football fan or just want to experience a bit of local pride, it's a fun and iconic stop right in the heart of Tuscaloosa. Tours are available to the public and give you a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most legendary stadiums in the country. Be sure to check the University of Alabama’s website for ticket info!

Government Plaza

618 21st Avenue, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401

Live at the Plaza! On Friday nights 6-9, there is a live concert complete with food trucks! This is one of Jackie and Noah's favorite Friday. night traditions in the summer time! Parking is free in the parking deck!

Chuck's Fish

508 Greensboro Avenue, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401

If you’re looking for a great spot for a special meal while in town, we highly recommend Chuck’s Fish—one of our absolute favorite date night spots in Tuscaloosa. With a menu featuring fresh seafood, wood-fired pizzas, and delicious sushi, it’s the perfect place for a fine dining experience in a relaxed, stylish setting. Fun fact: Noah originally planned to ask Jackie to be his girlfriend here—over dessert! But after a delicious meal, Jackie insisted she was too full for dessert, and the moment passed. Noah had to get creative and find another way to ask her that same night.

Baumhower's Victory Grille

500 Harper Lee Drive, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404

For classic Southern comfort food and a true game day atmosphere, we recommend Baumhower’s Victory Grille in Tuscaloosa. With wings, burgers, and all the game-day favorites, it’s a fun and casual spot that holds a special place in our hearts. Fun fact: This was the very first restaurant Jackie’s family visited when they came to Alabama for the first time. They found their love for the chips, cheese and salsa! And long before we met, Noah's family and friends kept this restaurant in their rotation—proof of the small, invisible string that connected us all along.

Tuscaloosa River Market

1900 Jack Warner Parkway, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401

Looking for a relaxed way to start your Saturday? Head to the Tuscaloosa River Market, which hosts a local farmers market every Saturday morning. You’ll find fresh produce, baked goods, local crafts, and more! After exploring the market, take a stroll along the Tuscaloosa Riverwalk, a scenic, paved path along the Black Warrior River that's perfect for a morning walk! It’s a great way to enjoy a bit of local flavor and take in the beauty of the area!

Heritage House Coffee Towncenter

700 Towncenter Boulevard, Tuscaloosa, AL 35406

We love Heritage House Coffee—a local favorite with great coffee, pastries, and breakfast bites. It’s perfect for a quiet morning or a midday pick-me-up. Jackie's favorite is a vanilla latte with cinnamon powder and the baked oatmeal! Noah's favorite is the breakfast burito! There are multiple locations around Tuscaloosa and Northport, so it’s easy to find one near wherever you're staying

Babe's Doughnut

500 Greensboro Avenue, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401

If you’re downtown and in the mood for a sweet breakfast, be sure to stop by one of our favorite local spots—Babe’s Donut Co. in Downtown Tuscaloosa. This charming shop offers fresh, creative donuts and breakfast bites that never miss. It’s a regular stop for us—Noah’s go-to order is two old fashioned donuts and a Conecuh kolache, while Jackie always goes for a blueberry donut and the avocado breakfast sandwich.

DePalma's Italian Cafe

2300 University Boulevard, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401

For delicious Italian food in a warm, inviting atmosphere, we recommend DePalma’s Italian Café in downtown Tuscaloosa. It’s a beloved local spot—and even Coach Nick Saban’s favorite! Whether you're in the mood for pasta, pizza, or their famous white chocolate bread pudding, DePalma’s is a great pick for a cozy dinner in the heart of town.

Waysider

1512 Greensboro Avenue, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401

If you're craving a true Southern breakfast, The Waysider is a must-visit. This Tuscaloosa institution is known for its hearty, home-cooked meals—think fluffy biscuits, creamy grits, and country ham—served in a cozy, red-brick house full of Alabama football history. Coach Bear Bryant used to sit at the same table before every home game, and that table is still part of the iconic restaurant today—a true piece of Crimson Tide lore. It’s a local favorite and fills up fast, so we recommend going early!
