We were married on August 16, 2022 in an intimate ceremony surrounded by our families in the beautiful Lake Tahoe. We both wanted something small and intimate where we could really focus on each other. Our friends and family are the people who mean the very most to us and fill our life with joy, so we couldn't get married without celebrating with all of you. We invite you to join us for a wedding reception on September 9 that will be full of dinner, drinks, and dancing.
We arrived in Lake Tahoe on Monday and got settled into our hotel, The Edgewood Resort. When checking in, the staff greeted us with champagne and our room was decorated in all things newlywed that made us feel so special from the start (Thanks to Nicks mom, Carrie, for the decorations). On Monday night, we, along with both of our families, went on a sunset cruise around Lake Tahoe, which couldn't have been a better start to the trip. Champagne was drank, there were lots of laughs, and even a few happy tears. After the boat cruise, we headed to The Bistro for a delicious dinner and even more champagne (and maybe more happy tears). Wedding day started with a lovely breakfast at the Edgewood with my mom and sister/MOH, Raegan, where I treated myself to the best steak and eggs of my life. Nick fell back asleep and spent the first part of wedding day doing what he loves - sleeping in. Our first look took place overlooking Emerald Bay. Nick cried, I cried, and all the people watching cried. It was perfect and the views were out of this world. My dad and I also did our first look here - many more tears were shed during this, as well. We loved having a first look because it calmed our nerves and helped remind us what the day was all about. Our Ceremony took place at 5:30 pm at Logan Shoals Vista Point, which is a lookout point on the east shore of Lake Tahoe. We were able to find a secluded spot between some rocks, with a view of the entire lake. During the ceremony, Josh Radman - Raegan's fiance, read the Seven Blessings. The seven blessing are seven different blessings that are traditionally performed during Jewish wedding ceremonies in Hebrew; luckily, Josh translated them to english for us. I first heard the seven blessings when I was a bridesmaid in my friend Molly's wedding. They stuck out to me, and I knew I had to borrow them for ours. The seven blessings are love, a loving home, humor & playfulness, wisdom, health, art & beauty, and community. Each of these blessings are important to Nick and I, and we wish them all upon all our best friends and family as well. The ceremony was sweet, intimate, and everything we could have dreamed of. After the ceremony, we had a private chef who cooked an amazing dinner of tapas. A few favorites were the buttered brioche crab melts, the arugula & tri tip crostini, and the lamb lollipops with taziki. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day. There is nothing as special as getting to marry your best friend in such a magical place. We spent the next few days relaxing at the Edgewood - eating delicious food, drinking cocktails by the pool, and spending quality time together. Nick's favorite honeymoon activity was turning on the fire in the evenings and I loved sipping a Bloody Mary in the mornings while reading a book on the beach. We both loved ordering chips & guacamole at the pool, overlooking the mountains. We had the best time. If you're reading this - You are so special to us and you have poured into us and made us the couple that we are. While we missed all our friends and family at home, we loved getting to focus on each other and have a relaxing day. We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our families who traveled with us to Lake Tahoe and made us feel so special, calmed our nerves, and helped with the logistics. It could never have been so smooth without y'all. But, the best part is that the celebrations aren't over, and we can't wait for our reception to celebrate with all of the people who mean so much to us. XOXO, The Palmers
