Eric and I met on November 5, 2016 at The Harp, in Boston. My friends and I were celebrating our survival through the first big round of PA School exams. Eric was out with his group of closest friends, heckling the hockey fans arriving from the TD Garden (par for the course with these guys). Neither group had planned to be at The Harp that night.. but as fate would have it, we found ourselves on the dance floor right next to each other. I saw a tall, handsome man dancing with his group of friends and was immediately enamored by the guy in the "white shirt". I pointed him out to my friend, Haley, but was too shy to make the first move. Haley, took matters into her own hands and "booty bumped" right into Eric. He turned around and thought it was me.. and the rest is history!! (I know, I know.. SO romantic! ha!) Fast forward three grueling years of PA school later.. I took a Surgical PA job to be closer to family and we both moved to NY. Little did we know a Global Pandemic would hit and Eric's opportunities for work would be squandered. During the year to follow, we leaned on each other (and our new pup, Poppy) to get through the difficult challenges. Eric ultimately accepted a job back in MA and we began 6 months of long distance. On the weekend of our 4-year “meet- aversary” and Poppy’s 1 year “gotcha” day, we visited our new town of Plymouth, MA to start house hunting. After I cluelessly threw a wrench into Eric’s initial plan, during a quiet walk on a beautiful and unseasonably warm November morning (11/8/20, to be exact) overlooking the gorgeous Plymouth Harbor, Eric got on one knee and asked the easiest question of my life! I (and Poppy) said YES! In a relationship that has had its obstacles and challenges, we have taken them on in stride and as a team. If we can overcome the last 5 years of unexpected twists and turns, we can overcome anything life brings our way!
