We wanted to share a little story about how it all started for us. One day in July 2023, Matthew got a notification on Bumble Andie had matched with him. And just like that, everything began. That summer, Andie was interning with Abbott, while Matthew was home interning with CVS Health. On July 30th, 2023, Matthew was out on the golf course with his friends Carter and Trevor Allen, double bogeying just about every hole and nervously counting down the hours until his first date with Andie at Topgolf in Schaumburg. After finishing up, he rushed to drop his friends off at the nearest train station, sped home to shower, and then headed to Lincolnshire to pick Andie up from her hotel. Nervous but excited, Matthew walked up to the hotel lobby only to find Andie already waiting for him. He introduced himself and went in for a hug, but Andie, cool as ever, walked right past him and got into his car like they’d known each other forever. Slightly stunned (and maybe a little thrown off), Matthew jumped into the driver’s seat, and off they went. At Topgolf, Matthew generously let Andie win every game (or so he claims after all, he had just played 18 holes). Afterward, he drove her back to the hotel, but neither of them wanted the night to end. They sat in the car talking for nearly two hours about life, dreams, and everything in between. Before leaving, Matthew asked if Andie would want to go on a second date, a Cubs game. Without hesitation, she said yes. The very next day, they took the train into the city and headed to the bleachers at Wrigley Field. But as they arrived, Matthew’s tickets wouldn’t scan. After a moment of panic, he realized he had accidentally bought tickets for the following day’s game. Slightly embarrassed but determined, he explained the situation to the ticket booth clerk, mentioning it was their second date. Thankfully, they laughed and let them in anyway. They made it inside, and from there… the rest is history. There’s a saying, “when you know, you know.” That’s exactly how it’s been for us ever since. We knew, and we couldn't be more happier! We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter and create even more memories with all of you at our wedding. With love, Matthew & Andie
