We started working for Pearson Education at the same time in two different cities. Jeremy lived in Lexington, KY and Rachel lived in Orlando, FL. We met several times during our first few months on the job at sales meetings and trainings, but didn't really get to know each other. During one training session, we were paired up to role-play sales scenarios, and got into a friendly argument while doing so. :) We met again a few months later, and got competitive during a company bowling outing. (To this day, we love friendly competition.) Over the next few months, we chatted via text and ended up hitting it off. Jeremy called Rachel and shared that he had figured out how much it would cost to fly from Lexington to Orlando twice a month for the next year. He flew into Orlando that weekend, and we had an amazing time exploring Disney World, Celebration (the town Rachel lived in), and celebrating Barkley's birthday. We dated long distance, visiting each other every other weekend over the next two years.

We lived in Rachel's little apartment in South Tampa together for one year before finding the house of our dreams in Tampa Heights. The stars aligned and we bought our first home together, moving in on October 1, 2017. Jeremy proposed on Halloween, dressing up Barkley in his costume with a bag of candy around his neck. The box was hidden under the candy. Rachel was so excited the dog was actually wearing his costume, she didn't realize what was happening until she saw the ring. We both laughed, cried, and had an amazing first holiday in our home.
