Matron of Honor
The bride's big sister (by 9 years)! She put Molly in a shoebox at a mere 1 wk old when she realized that the attention had been stolen. Luckily, they have both recovered and Molly looks forward to having her sister stand at the altar with her on her big day. Afterall, Molly owes Katie, as Katie gave Molly her nephew and nieces: Hayden, Eliza & Lydia...her three favorite gifts from her big sis. Molly and Katie, although always at different stages, have been lucky enough to live in the same cities, both SF and Boston, for most of Molly's adult life. Sisters are the best!
Bridesmaid
Jen & Molly started school together at Lincoln in kindergarten (PM class, of course)! They clearly got along all too well, and likely didn't stop chatting, so they were then separated into different classes until 4th & 5th grade. They were reunited just in time to dominate in kickball at recess. Jen and Molly spent endless time together playing 'Hot Lava', skating at the rink and 'jumping on the tramp' in the Barefoots backyard. Two other highlights included the M&Ms that Jen's mom would bring us when she picked us up from school, and playing the VCR version of Clue in Molly's basement during sleepovers. They also memorized every lyric to Ice, Ice Baby if you want a rendition during the wedding weekend.
Bridesmaid
Molly & Lydia go all the way back to Youth Soccer in NJ as 5 year olds, coached by the father of the bride who still describes Lydia as the "fastest kid he ever coached". Lydia & Molly were on the undefeated Red Devils, and if you want more on that memorable season, they'll relive the glory days happily. Molly & Lyd never went to school together, so they owe their youth in Summit and the glorious city by the bay, San Francisco, for making them the buddies they are today! Friendship magic happened in their favorite city where they spent Thursday nights at Shanghai Kellys, weekends at Alpine and Squaw and the in between at Nick's Taco and 'the valley' at Fort Mason.
Bridesmaid
Katie graced Molly with her presence in August of '91 when Katie moved to NJ from CT. Sporting a stylish blue and white denim short/jacket duo, it was best friendship at first sight! It was all set in stone when Molly asked Katie to be her partner on a Saskatchewan project later that school year. They almost broke a Guinness World Record for the longest sleepover when Molly slept at the Bowmans 7 nights in a row, passing the time outside with Manhunt & a little late night Carmen San Diego. After only spending 5th grade together, Katie & Molly went separate ways for the rest of school visiting one another regularly, and hanging out when Molly was back in Summit. They then spent 4 yrs together treating SF like a playground. Molly isn't sure what she'd do without her red headed BFF!
Bridesmaid
Liv was Molly's first new friend at Middlebury. It all started on the couch of a suite at The Zoo where they were 'set up' by two Midd juniors...Liv's older sister, Randy, & Molly's friend, Becky. Their first night hanging out consisted of repeatedly listening to Tubthumping by Chumbawamba. Liv & Molly went on to enjoy a tradition of the casual Bud Light and steak & cheese from Baba's on Thursday nights in the A Frames basement. Their favorite song is 'The Muffin Man'. It is a match made in heaven!
Bridesmaid
Lisa AKA 'Snoodles' or 'Snubes' has been a close friend of the bride's since freshman year at Middlebury. Lisa and Molly ended up living together at the AFrames junior year, and more importantly at the Palace senior year. At Washington Street they enjoyed many a day on 'Blue' and 'Whitey', waiting for Lisa's 90210 DVDs to arrive from NitroNosNos...they never did. Their friendship has continued on strong, (although long distance since 2003), a true testament to their GChat and snapchat skills!
Bridesmaid
Molly met Wes on the path between Stuart & the social houses freshman year at Midd. Their friendship was cemented when they lived in the luxurious basement of the AFrames sophomore year, and peaked at Washington Street senior year. On their final drive home from Midd after graduation, Molly called Wes & within 10 minutes convinced her to move to SF! They made sure to visit Vegas annually, dominate Bobby's Run at Alpine Meadows & hit up Alcatraz more than the average SF resident. The fun didn't stop there, when back in Boston in '09 they rented an abode in Charlestown that had the same lack of classiness the AFrames had, and Wes & Molly continued on with their 'adult life' on the East Coast. Boston has treated them to time on Nantucket, nights at Warren Tavern & countless BBQs in Chucktown.
Bridesmaid
Molly met Kristin on the 'This is Vermont' orientation trip the first week at Midd. They both occupied the 2nd floor of the Palace senior year and enjoyed hosting the boys from Homer Harris Thursdays for beirut before Angela's. Kristin & Molly became the friends they are today when Molly would do her regular NYC visits from Boston, & eventually convinced Kristin that Beantown was her next home. Four days on ACK in the summer of 2008 with the Boston crew, and Kristin had put in her transfer papers and signed a lease in Beacon Hill!
Bridesmaid
Although Anna & Molly were in the same larger friend group at Midd, it wasn't until they went abroad down under that they became the friends they are today. Visiting one another in Tasmania & Perth, and then spending two weeks at the end of the semester exploring New Zealand & Fiji with their buddy, Annie, were highlights! Life landed them in SF after graduation, they rented an apartment in Nob Hill & explored Cali. Teaching took Anna to Pebble Beach for 2 years and they both landed back East at the same time, where they then followed one another to Beacon Hill & finally Charlestown. They share a love of 'fizzy' & 'salt & vinnys', what could be better than that? One of Molly's favorite parts about Anna? Her kids, Riley & Billy, and her brother from another mother, Mike McD!
Bridesmaid
Lindsay Steinsieck, AKA 'Rookie' is Molly's rookie best friend that entered her life in the summer of 2002. Wes gets the credit for introducing these two that summer, and then Lindsay visited Molly & Wes when they lived together out in SF. Safe to say it's been a very chatty, understanding friendship ever since. Molly & Lindsay eventually both ended up in Boston in 2007 where they frequented Border Cafe in Harvard Square and bonded over the Celtics and lifes ups & downs! Molly feels extremely lucky to have Linds just two blocks up the street in Charlestown.
Bridesmaid
Molly & Tessa, aka Amiga, were friendly at Middlebury, but what brought them to 'Amiga' status was living together in SF three years after college. Tessa made the move West in 2006 and they made Hyde Street their home with Julie. Sushi take out on Sunday nights, Polk Street bars on Thursdays and winter weekends at Lude were the highlights for these two that year. The bride loves her annual visits to SF first and foremost because she gets to spend time with her amiga, Tessa!
Bridesmaid
Kathleen is Molly's favorite sister in law! Kathleen joined the Barefoot family unofficially in 2005, & officially in 2007. She brings a laid back, fun spirit to the crew & most importantly can keep up with Pammy! Molly loves chatting with Kathleen about anything and everything, and looks forward to family time because it's a chance to hang with her. Kathleen is the best thing that's ever happened to the bride's big brother, John, & the two of them gave Molly her OTHER two favorite gifts in this world: nephew, Will, and niece, Riley!
Bridesmaid
Molly met Chrissy June of '07 down in Newport Beach during a wknd visiting Wes. It was true friendship when Molly tore her knee mid-visit & Chrissy had to physically help Molly get anywhere she wanted to go, most challenging, the beach. Chrissy made Boston a whole lot more fun when she moved East summer of '09, just in time to move in with Wes & Molly at the beloved 48 Harvard St in Charlestown. Molly & Chrissy have been roommates & neighbors in Chucktown & to say they've had a few good nights in Boston, is an understatement. Molly jumps on Notre Dame's football bandwagon every fall, spending Sat afternoons cheering for the Irish with Chrissy. They make the best of any weekend freedom, & spend many a Sunday brunching at Monument. Molly feels so lucky to have Chrissy a part of her squad!
Best Man
Victor is Peter’s older brother and Best Man. Like many younger brothers, Peter often found himself interested in whatever his brother was. Whether it was playing hockey, hanging out with the neighborhood kids or rooting for Notre Dame Football and the family’s beloved North Carolina Tar Heels, Peter was always one step behind his best man. Peter did not grow up unscathed however, Victor always enjoyed taking Peter on long wave hopping rides in the ocean, ending battered and bruised. He was also known to enjoy having Peter walk through the High School hall as a 7th grader, where Peter got 'friendly' with a few of the lockers. Today, Peter and Vic are the closest of friends and excited for the many adventures to come their way.
Groomsman
Paul is Peter’s oldest friend. Paul and Peter, or Peter and Paul, the two are certainly not apostles but close enough, as they consider themselves to be prized alumni of the Danvers High School hockey program. Cue, Glory Days by Springsteen. Peter and Paul could be found most days hanging out together, playing hockey, golf or for Halloween senior year, dressed up as Jake and Elwood of the Blues Brothers. If these two ever claim to be “just heading to lunch” you can rest assured they are going for a quick trip to Suffolk Downs to grab lunch and place a couple bets with their lucky ticket lady.
Groomsman
Peter first met Ian in 2003 as freshman at Westfield State. They started out as roommates, and became close friends quickly. Everyone on campus always spotted Ian a mile away, standing at 6’4” and knew his slightly shorter friend, Peter, probably wasn't far behind. Ever seen the movie, Twins? Yep, these two echoed the same pairing. The groom and Ian have countless memories from college, and most include cruising up to college parties in Ian’s 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. A sight to be seen. A defensive pair on the ice, Ian and Pete have always had one another's back and Peter is happy to be able to call Ian one of his groomsman!
Groomsman
Liam and Peter, two short Irish kids with bad Boston accents met at Westfield State as freshman and became fast friends, and eventual roommates. Liam and the groom share a similar love of ice hockey and Bud Lights. Liam was one of the fearless leaders of the spring Floor Hockey squad, Team Slap Shot. Living together off campus senior year at Westfield neither was a gourmet cook. One staple they had a handle on though...English muffins. On a night more casual, an English muffin with (a lot of) butter. A more upscale night, English muffin pizzas. The groom and Liam were connoisseurs.
Groomsman
Anthony and Peter became close friends at Westfield State during their freshman year. Nicknamed, 'The Don', Anthony kept Peter on his toes and they always found a time to crack a Bud Light and enjoy college life. These two shared some memorable ski trips, where Peter famously did cartwheels down Cannon Mountain while 'The Don' stopped and watched, waiting to collect Peter’s skis and poles. Anthony rounds out the foursome with Peter, Ian and Liam that could often be found together at the dining hall or playing hockey for the Owls.
Groomsman
John, the bride's big brother by 10.5 years, has always had her back and looked out for her. Molly has fond memories of following John around as a kid and pushing his buttons so far, that she'd end up with countless dead legs. On the flip side, when John got his license at 17, and Molly was 6, he let her sit on his lap in his blue Jeep Cherokee and drive around Memorial Field. Her early driving lessons definitely paid off, as it is argued that Molly is definitely a better driver than Peter. John and Peter share a love of hitting the links, and John is his best self when with his kids, Will & Riley!
Groomsman
Brian is Peter's soon to be bro-in-law, married to Molly's sister, Katie. Brian and Peter had their first chance to bond when they went late night kayaking in Fenwick summer of 2015, we were all grateful, and slightly surprised, to see them return. Brian keeps things interesting, never stopping and always up for a good time. Peter and Brian have plenty in common, including their love of constant games and activities, being in a boat on the water and a sunset beverage of choice. They will have plenty of time to commiserate in the years to come over dealing with the Barefoot women, after all they've both quickly learned, there's the wrong way and there's the Barefoot women's way!
