It all started in 7th grade, in Mrs. Sham's English class. That's where I (Madison) first met Harrison. I had a secret crush on him, but he had no idea. In fact, he thought my awkward attempts at flirting were just me picking on him. Mrs. Sham rearranged our seats, and I ended up directly in front of Harrison. To my left, my two best friends were lucky enough to sit next to each other, proudly showing off their matching friendship bracelets. Naturally, I felt a little left out. Not one to be outdone, I spun around, snatched Harrison’s pencil, and triumphantly declared it our "best friend pencil." I told the girls I was just as lucky because I had a new best friend — Harrison. It was classic junior high silliness, but somehow, that moment stuck. Even now, almost ten years later, Harrison still has that pencil. He never knew why he kept it, only that it felt like something worth holding onto. Fast forward to our sophomore year of high school. We found ourselves in the same Spanish class with Señora Martinez. At first, we didn't pay much attention to each other. But everything changed during the second semester. Señora had a tradition of throwing a ball to our classmates for attendance, and one day, Harrison surprised me by choosing to throw it my way. I was shocked but flattered, and from that moment on, a spark reignited. Every day, he'd toss the ball to me, and with each playful exchange, our connection grew. Before we knew it, we were hanging out in line before class, texting each other about Spanish homework, and then, well, not about homework at all. Our friendship blossomed, and that lingering crush from 7th grade came rushing back. We went to school banquets together, nervously giggling and savoring each little milestone. Eventually, we made it official, and our love story truly began. That was six years ago. Year after year, my love for Harrison has only grown. We’ve been each other's constant through every twist and turn of life. From navigating the halls of high school to cheering each other on at our college graduations from UT, and now starting our careers as teachers, we've built a lifetime of memories side by side. When I reflect on our journey, I can’t help but see the hand of God woven through every step. We serve a God who is intimately involved in the details of our lives — a God who loves us so deeply that He gifted us to each other. I have no doubt that God created Harrison just for me, and I am endlessly thankful for that blessing. Our story is a testament to God’s perfect plan. Through every moment, from that pencil in 7th grade to the countless memories we’ve shared since, His goodness has been evident. As we step into this next chapter, we do so with Jesus at the center, knowing that our marriage will continue to be a reflection of His love. We are where we are today because of Him, and we give all glory and honor to God alone. We cannot wait to see what He has in store for us, and we are so grateful to have you celebrate alongside us as we begin our forever together. With love, Madison & Harrison
