The City of Covington, founded in 1813, is a charming Southern community nestled among three rivers. An eclectic mix of boutiques, art galleries, specialty shops, restaurants, and schools (including Morgan's Alma Mater) line the downtown streets. Downtown Covington holds a special place in our hearts, especially Morgan's. Check out the Southern Hotel, Coffee Rani for a great salad or sandwich (Morgan's Favorite), Meribo for pizza, New Orleans Food and Spirits for New Orleans cuisine, Haven Coffee and Cocktails, Bon Sake for sushi, Abita Roasting for coffee and lunch, Bears for the best poboy, Columbia Street Tap Room for drinks and dancing, Butter Krisp Diner for the best donuts, and so many more!

Pat's Rest Awhile, where we got engaged, is one of our favorite places on the lakefront. We love sitting outside and watching the sunset while enjoying some delicious food. After, go for a walk along the lakefront and enjoy the view.

The Cypress Bar at the historic Southern Hotel is a great place to sit and grab a drink. The Southern Hotel is one of our favorite places in Covington.

The Anchor

The Anchor is one of our favorite spots to grab a drink (specifically a bushwacker) and an appetizer by the water. There's great food, drinks, live music and a playground for kids.

Abita Brewing Company and Tap Room

For our beer enthusiast, check our Abita Brewery's tap room. Abita Brewery offers guided and self-guided tours where you can learn about the brewing process, beer and history. You can book a tour in advance or go on a whim! Although closed toe shoes are required to tour the brewery. The guided tours cost $10 and include four 4-oz tastings. Self-guided tours are free and though they don’t include tastings, you can purchase a pint in the tap room.

Fontainebleau State Park

Fontainebleau State Park is the original location of the Fontainebleau plantation and sugar mill. The crumbling brick ruins of a sugar mill built in 1829 by Bernard de Marigny de Mandeville, founder of Mandeville. The most-visited park in Louisiana has nature trails, a sandy beach, a new, all-inclusive playground, a splash pad, and the ruins the sugar mill situated among towering oaks.

The Chimes is one of our favorites! It's a great place to eat, drink, watch a game, and spend time with friends. We recommend the crab claws, chargrilled oysters, and spinach dip.
