Joey and Barbi met at Crossfit back in 2012. Barbi was coincidentally friends with Joey's mom, Madeline, first. Then came a night out on the town for the CrossFit crew at Blue Martini in Boca Raton, where they partied night away and then watched their first sunrise together. Their attempt at a first date was a night out at Lulu's Bait Shack in Fort Lauderdale Beach- their chance to to get to know each other a little bit more. Unfortunately, the live band playing was so loud that all they could do was not and pretend to laugh at what was going on even though neither one knew what the other was saying. The second try was Joey's 21st birthday party. That was a successful (and wild) night, and the rest is history!
