We met in ninth grade civics class and later became friends through our youth group in church. We started dating during our senior year in high school, and the rest is history!
Alex- One day it dawned on me, "I am gonna marry this girl." I told Payton in January of 2020 that I was going to propose and that I wanted it to be in the horse pasture with Gracie. Fast forward to day of: complete chaos! We had lunch, then went to summit racing to get a truck part and I thought they would take a long time but they brought it out quickly, so then we went to horse town to kill time (I wanted to propose at sunset, and make sure everyone had time to get there and hide), then I took the long way home, then I had to pretend to be hungry again and go to Chick-fil-a to waste more time, we ate it at Line Creek, then I stopped at the gas station to "get my dad a coke" and finally we got back to the house. I said, "hey what's that on the hay." and she followed me out there and "Ta-Da! A bible with her new last name!" I got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife. Brooke- I should have known something was up because of how many different places he insisted that we stop at. Finally we got back to my house that evening and he said there was something in the horse pasture that needed to be cleaned up. There was a bible laying on the hay that said, "Sydney Brooke Dunsmore," on the cover. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After I (of course!) said yes, all of our family and friends came out of their hiding places and we got to celebrate the proposal with our family and closest friends. One of my favorite days!
