We met on a dating app three years to the day before our wedding. It was in the depths of the pandemic lockdowns, and while it was a difficult time, our inability to meet in person probably strengthened our relationship. We spent months getting to know each other through texts and phone calls, so we know we fell in love for the right reasons. We both had some trepidation about our first meeting in person, but once we laid eyes on each other, we pretty much knew this was it.

We took a mini-vacation up to Cape Canaveral to camp near the beach and watch a rocket launch, then continued on to St. Augustine for another couple of days. The city was filled with holiday lights, the mood was festive, and Steve knew this was the time and place. He got Declan’s approval ahead of time, and in the middle of the Plaza de la Constitución, dropped to one knee and proposed to Barb. Declan manned the camera and captured the happy moment. We’ll always have St. Augustine.
