It was 2014 when a mutual friend (shoutout to David Smith) showed a picture of Kenny to Barb at work and asked what she thought of this guy. Trying to play it cool Barb said oh he's cute however inside her head Barb was was like daaaaannnnnggggg he is FINE! While working out at bally total fitness David told Kenny "Yo I got a friend looking for a good guy! He then showed her IG profile to Kenny. He immediately said "SIGN ME UP" what is her number? A few days later KP3THENUPE requested to follow B_Marie84. Numbers were exchanged and they talked a few times. But Barb grew irritated because Kenny was always trying to call to talk on the phone. Barb was more of a texter as she had two small kids and was "too busy" to sit down and have a phone conversation. They eventually lost contact and life took them on two separate journeys. Throughout the years they would run into each other randomly. A few times at the gym Barb would spot him and get so nervous she would run and hide in the women's only side. Another time on Barb's birthday in 2018 she was walking from lunch in a plaza by her her job and spotted Kenny coming out of chipotle. There he stood standing tall with the sunlight glistening on his skin. Barb could no longer focus on the conversation she was having with her coworkers All she could hear were the lyrics to Erykah Badu "Next Lifetime" playing in her head. As she walked by him though Kenny did not even look in her direction. He ignored that fact the love of his life was in his presence. It took several years and significant others before they could see that they belonged together. About 6 years after initially meeting it was finally time for their journey to begin together. 2020 at the start of the pandemic Barb who was newly single posted some hints to get Kenny's attention on her IG story. She was single and ready to mingle. After a few posts Kenny went for the bait and slid in her DM's on March 16th 2020. They had their first date on May 2nd 2020 a picnic in the metro parks (yes during Covid they were thirsty). They shared their first kiss which was intense and those fireworks surely sparked (sorry Dad, TMI) It was then they knew they belonged in each others life and the long wait was well worth it. Since then they have been inseparable. Their love story didn't start with an initial spark but rather a slow burn to get to where they are today and they couldn't be happier!

2/24/23 Barb started planning Kenny's 38th birthday party. She was so excited for all the festivities and surprises she had in store for him. Unbeknownst to her Kenny had his own surprises in store for her. 3/25/23 it was party day! A day to celebrate Kenny with all their family and friends. Barb wanted to make Kenny feel special. She decorated the event space with all things about him. It was important that he walked around feeling like the KING he is. Everyone was having fun, food was good, the night was just perfect Barb thought. After Barb presented her gifts to Kenny it was time for cake. Barb felt so happy she got to make Kenny feel so loved and appreciated. As the cake cutting begin Kenny got on the mic to tell everyone he had a gift for Barb. Barb immediately got annoyed because Kenny got her a gift on his birthday the previous year and she made him promise to NEVER do that again. His Bday was HIS day and she did not want gifts. She refused to open the gift however Kenny got the guest to chant "lets go Barb" so due to the SEVERE peer pressure Barb gave in and opened the gift. As she pulled out what she thought was a Nike shirt was actually a shirt that said Wife Loading as she turned to Kenny she immediately saw him on one Knee CREASING his JORDANS! Even though he went against the agreement of no gifts for her on his bday AND ignored everything Barb had mentioned in casual conversation multiple times about the requirements of what her perfect proposal would be ( you know the typical nails must be freshly done, dressed up, and makeup done) she PRIDEfully said YES with her week two nails in a Nike fit and no makeup on.
