I was just going about my life, finding enjoyment in new tv shows, new food adventures, and belting out Meghan Trainor's song "No"... "My name is no, My sign is no, My number is no...", which was my theme song of 2016. Then my good friend Kristy invited me over for St. Patrick's Day. It had been some time since we saw each other, but I figured, "why not?!". Little did I know, she had a room packed with single guys that would be in attendance as well. I was my goofy self making chatter with everyone and anyone. Dom laid back a bit and was a man of few words, but he we did get a quick "speed dating" type of chat and he also did offer me a ring from the St. Patrick's Day cookie cake. Who would have thought he'd upgrade that plastic ring to a diamond ring 6 years later?! After a few more hangouts with the crowd, Dom finally mustered up the courage to ask me to "hang out" to watch a Pen's game. One thing leads to another and here we are now, planning a wedding.
I was on a trip with one of my besties (Brittani) in California. We planned a trip to visit, Los Angeles, Joshua Tree, and San Diego; just another girl's trip like we usually do with lots of food, sweets, and beautiful views. A few days into our trip, we were on our way to Joshua Tree and Brittani was insistent that we find the perfect sunset spot (even though we were basically chasing the sunset). She convinced me to get out of my road trip lounge clothes and into a dress for a bestie photo shoot. We made our trek up to the top of the viewpoint to find the mountains and the sunset. Just as I turned around at the top, I see Dom patiently waiting to get down on one knee. He traveled 2,100 miles to give me the surprise of a lifetime!
