Our Story

This was such a surprise to you… and honestly, it was to us too. 🤍 Shanece had been invited to a friend’s wedding, excited to celebrate love, not knowing she would quietly meet her own. Barak had flown in from the UK to visit family and enjoy some time in the States. When his plans with a friend fell through, he found himself standing at a train station with a choice to make. In a simple, spontaneous decision, he chose to accompany his cousins to a wedding they were invited to. That wedding just happened to be the one Shanece was attending. A week later, we had our first real phone call. It lasted two hours, though it felt like twenty minutes. The conversation flowed effortlessly. Barak was drawn to Shanece’s openness, her thoughtful honesty, her depth, and her willingness to be fully herself, an open book with nothing to hide. Shanece was drawn to something she had never experienced before, even through a phone call, his presence brought a deep sense of peace and safety that quieted her spirit and allowed her to open up and relax in a way that felt unfamiliar, yet undeniably right. By our second conversation, there was a quiet knowing. It felt aligned. It felt like God. What moves us most is how simple it all was, a trip to visit family, a split-second decision at a train station, a wedding neither of us expected to change our lives forever. And yet, here we are. We have found the one our soul loves, and we are deeply grateful that God gently ordered our steps toward each other. 🤍
