Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve

Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve

17000 Armstrong Woods Road, Guerneville, CA 95446

Armstrong has some of the biggest redwoods you'll ever see. The ancient coast redwood is the tallest living thing on our planet! These remarkable trees live to be 500-1,000 years old, grow to a diameter of 12-16 feet, and stand from 200-250 feet tall. Some trees survive to over 2,000 years and tower above 350 feet.

Johnson's Beach

Johnson's Beach

16215 First Street, Guerneville, CA 95446

Johnson's Beach is a fun public beach super close to the Loyola Lodge. It's got kayaks, canoes, paddle boats and more for rent. We recommend renting a couple of kayaks and exploring down the Russian River.

Jenner Beach

Jenner Beach

Jenner, CA 95450

The Russian River flows out into the Pacific at Jenner Bay. Jenner is a short drive from Guerneville and offers a glimpse into the beautiful rugged coast of Northern California. If you're lucky you'll see (and hear) a big group of seals taking over the bay to sunbathe.

Bodega Bay

Bodega Bay

Bodega Bay, CA

Bodega Bay is a bit farther south from Jenner. Fun fact: Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" was filmed here! Don't worry, the birds aren't actually that bad. We recommend grabbing some fresh fish n chips at The Birds Cafe and cruising around the marina.
