Permits required for back-country camping. No personal vehicles allowed beyond Savage without camping permits. Be sure to read up on details before you go. Denali is 20,308 feet high! whaaaaaat?!

Angel Rocks Trailhead
Very big "bang for your buck" hike. 3 mile loop with steep elevation gain early on with amazing views of the Chena River valley as the reward, along with fun rock outcrops to scramble. Feeling like more of a day? Hike the 8 miles to Chena Hot Springs and reward yourself with a soak. "Outside in the Interior" is a good reference book for hikes in the area.
