It all started in our high school P.E. class when I taught Hayden how to swing dance. Through the years, after I had moved away, Hayden was very persistent about getting together whenever I was back in town visiting family. We'd make plans to grab lunch or coffee but something always came up (or I'd just bail on our plans and make up some lame excuse as to why I couldn't get together). After two years of coffee dates that never happened, we ran into each other at a Young Life leader meeting just after I got back to the States from my ministry training abroad. Seeing the man he has become, his heart for the Lord & the compassion that he has for others, OH, & his unbelievably luscious locks... I knew I was in trouble. Three weeks go by of Hayden asking me to go to the lake with his family until I finally cave & decide to go. I was reading on the porch at the cabin when he ran up the stairs & swooped me up off the ground & into his arms. That was it for me. From the very beginning, we have been intentional, transparent & have dedicated our relationship to learning how to love and pursue one another the way that Jesus pursues us, unconditionally & relentlessly with a WHOLE LOT of grace. We are excited to see how God uses our marriage to be a light that shines for Him & glorifies Him in all that we do.
