A college friend of Steph's was living in Georgia and attending Life University. She messaged Steph one day asking her to come visit for a weekend. She said that she had met Steph's Prince Charming and she needed to come visit and meet him. Steph thought she was crazy, but took the plunge and booked a flight to visit for a long weekend. Steph's friend introduced Steph and Chris through Facebook in February 2016 before the visit. Steph and Chris began talking daily until they met in person. Steph had a late flight into Atlanta and expected her friend to come pick her up at the airport. A rainy night/early morning at 12:30am, Chris surprised Steph and immediately stepped out of the car to put Steph's luggage in the car and opened her car door for her. Steph and Chris spent that weekend together with their friends. They went on their first hike, Chris cooked dinner for Steph, Steph got Chris out on the dance floor at Cowboys, and she ended their time giving Chris a Syracuse T-Shirt hoping this was only the beginning. On Monday, Steph returned to school very giddy (her co-workers will attest) and Chris decided to book his first flight to Syracuse. The trips back and forth began and continued for 2 1/2 years... "Loving someone you don't see every day is not a bad thing. It's just proof that love is not in sight, but in the heart."

With less than 3 weeks to plan the proposal, Chris had to bring his A game! During his summer break Chris picked out the perfect ring, or at least he hoped, the perfect ring! He got the father of the bride and brother of the bride's blessing before coming up with an idea for the proposal. A big thank you to the Bohm's, Bonham's and Reed's for all their help setting up the perfect proposal! On the evening of July 3rd they were all headed to the beach for what Steph thought was just a BBQ out on the sand! Once dinner was finished Chris stole Steph away for a walk along the shore while the real preparation began! Chris' family and friends began putting together a message in the sand using candles and sea shells while the two were out of sight. On the way back from their walk they could see an orange glow where everyone was setting up. Steph thought they were all going to be arrested for starting a fire on the beach (haha). When they got closer, Steph saw the message written in the sand and Chris dropped to his knee. Chris was so nervous he can't remember what he said, but it must have been the right words because she said YES! Fast forward two years later and they are getting ready to celebrate their wedding with all of their friends and family!
