Big Cove Tannery is in Fulton County, PA. It's 6.4 miles south of McConnellsburg, PA
It is recommended that if you are traveling from Pittsburgh that you take the PA Turnpike. Stay on the Turnpike until you get to the Ft. Littleton exit (Exit 180) and follow the signs to McConnellsburg. If you are feeling brave, you can take Rt. 30 the whole way, but that is the mountain way and there are many winding roads and slower speed limits.
We fell in love with the chapel they have on site. A bonus was how well we were treated by the owners when we toured the venue. Carol and Dave really care about their couples and strive to make sure their days are as perfect as you could imagine. They are great people and we feel lucky to have found a perfect space.
If you are the outdoorsy type, Cowans Gap is very close by and there are great hiking trails. If you travel towards Chambersburg, there is also Caledonia State Park where you can hike a portion of the Appalachian Trail! You can also venture out an extra hour towards Gettysburg and tour the battlefields! Mr. Ed's Elephant Emporium is close by, as is Adams County - which has a lot of great wineries. Harrisburg is another option if you are interested in visiting the state's capitol!
I would recommend looking at Air BnBs for closer accommodations. Chambersburg and Mercersburg are 45 minutes away, but they offer more hotel options if Air BnB is not your thing.
