It was a perfect July Saturday for a college graduation party. Sarah’s friends from college had all come down to celebrate. The drinks were flowing, the food was incredible, and everyone was having a great time. All of that came to a screeching halt for Sarah when Warren came in with a dude that Sarah did not recognize. Immediately assuming that he was crashing the party, Sarah cursed him out. Warren vouched for him and said he was a cool guy and Steph told Sarah to be a little nicer. Sarah decided to back off, just a little bit. That dude was Jeff. Throughout the night, Sarah and Jeff were able to have a proper conversation (with a little help from Warren), and stayed up until dawn laughing and talking the night away. The next morning, Sarah convinced Jeff to join the rest of their friends at a local diner for breakfast. As they parted ways, Jeff asked for Sarah’s number and she happily gave it to him. After his long drive home to Albany, he texted her, only to be met with deafening silence. Four hours later, Sarah replied. She took a 4 hour nap. And the rest is history.
Out of the blue, Sarah decided she wanted to try a winter hike for the first time. On the coldest day of the year (seriously, it was below zero), Sarah and Jeff set out to do a quick hike at a lovely little park near their home. Once they reached the top of Peach Hill Park, they sat at a picnic table to take in the view. While Sarah was taking pictures, Jeff began the speech. Sarah continued taking pictures, completely oblivious to what he was doing. He said to not freak out, and Sarah froze. He got down on one knee and popped the question and of course Sarah said yes immediately. It was just the two of them and nature in the cold winter air. It was absolutely perfect.
