First date
Kalie had been in Michigan for only a week. Swiping on Hinge, they came across each other. Joel made the 2 hour journey from Grand Rapids to Manistee for a date. Of course dropping Duke off at Mike and Shelly’s, He grabbed sushi on the way up for a date on the beach. During the date he revealed his birthday was the following day! I insisted he stay and we go celebrate as he had nothing planned. We went up North to Traverse City and stumbled upon a food truck event and ordered something from almost every truck. Best date ever.
The day we became a couple
After a few months, of a few weekend dates, one afternoon in Manistee, Kalie popped the question. "So are we like boyfriend and girlfriend?" Joel shook his head no. They asked each other, do you want to be? They both agreed, yes!
