What are the best airports to fly in to?
Answer
There are two airports that fly into Houston: George Bush International Airport (IAH) and Hobby Airport (HOU). IAH will have more available flights as it is an international and larger hub compared; however it is a bit further from the venue (~45min with no traffic) compared to Hobby (~26min with no traffic). Forewarning: there is nearly ALWAYS traffic in Houston.

What does getting around the city look like?

*Warning: Houston has heavy traffic* Also it is a large metroplex with limited public transportation. We recommend renting a car, as it's often cheaper than daily Uber/Lyft rides. The venue is a 30-45 minute drive from Houston (without traffic), so renting a car for a few days might be more convenient and cost-effective for you and your family.

The venue is 30-45 minutes south of Houston in Clearlake. We wanted to give our out of state guests the freedom to make the weekend their own. Here are 3 options for cities to stay in: -Clearlake: Closest to the venue, with The Hilton at NASA Clear Lake (5 minutes away) and South Shore Harbor Resort (15 minutes away), plus nearby coastal Airbnb's. The Hilton Houston is blocking off rooms for us at $139 a night if you book with them prior to May 17! Houston has a lot of suburbs! My local friends recommend these areas: Downtown - For a central location with great nightlife, restaurants, and attractions. The Heights - A trendy, historic area with boutiques, restaurants, and a vibrant atmosphere. Museum District - Ideal for culture lovers, with museums, parks, and green spaces. River Oaks - Upscale, luxurious neighborhood with high-end shopping and dining. Galleria - Perfect for shopping and business, with a mix of hotels and offices.
