Infinity and Beyond, Forever and Ever Together

Katie and Eric met on Hinge in December 2021 after Eric cleverly commented on one of Katie’s travel photos. Katie, whose therapist liked to point out that no one was able to make it past 3 dates with her, almost swiped left on Eric due to how “stable” and “good” (and according to Eric “ruggedly handsome”) Eric appeared—thank god that therapy was starting to make some impact. Katie and Eric had their first date the day before New Years Eve, where Katie unknowingly responded “that’s cool” when Eric told her his dad had died (Katie has since worked to correct Eric’s mumbling and get him to talk more clearly… he still mumbles). Katie and Eric spent first dates getting to know each other through bowling, axe throwing, ice skating, and hiking and that was the end of “Three Date Kate” as Eric coined her. They had their first kiss at Koto Steakhouse on their second date and as they got to know each other and enjoyed their time together began to say “Happy with you” to each other. And then, somewhere around March, on a snowy hike when Eric fell on his ass for the millionth time (don’t worry, Katie had also fallen her fair share), in an instant Katie knew she had fallen in love with Eric. It was a few dates later, after an evening at Dave and Busters that Eric was the first to say those words and Katie of course reciprocated. That summer, Katie bought her own house and in Spring 2023 Eric moved in and “happy with you” became “Chappy with you” (for Chapman St) and the two adjusted to managing household responsibilities together. In January 2024, Katie and Eric welcomed their mischievous dogter Rudy to their family and home with adventures in puppy classes, tearing apart expensive household items, chase games in the backyard, Saturday family naps, splish splashes, and endless comments from strangers about how bear-like and happy their baby is. After months of Eric’s planning and adjusting plans, and then adjusting again, he finally proposed to Katie (with Rudy present of course) on March 22, 2025 at their favorite family location—Eastern Point Beach. Katie of course said yes (and started wedding planning the next day). We can’t wait to have you join us as we celebrate and enter into our new chapter as husband and wife.
