Kaleb had been searching for jobs in every city besides Cabot. Being from Beebe, he was not particularly a fan of Cabot. Boy did that change. After beginning work at David’s Burgers, where Casie was also working, he began spending all of his time in Cabot. Whether it was coming early before his shift to see her or staying late after, Kaleb quickly found a liking to Cabot. We loved working together and even though we smelt like burgers every time we saw each other, we both knew there was an undeniable spark between the two of us. Our relationship grew over coffee dates before work and greasy burgers after. No matter what we were doing, we were always having fun. Meeting each other was completely choreographed by God Himself. Bringing Kaleb to the last place he wanted to work only to find a bestfriend for life. We are so excited to spend forever together and so thankful for March 17th 2017.
October 7th 2018 The morning of the day that he proposed we went to Church and I could tell that something was up. In all honesty, I thought he just really liked the message. When we got back to the dorm room we did our typical routine. Card games and friends. It was getting later in the afternoon and Kaleb looked at Joey and asked if he could take me out. That was my first sign. He took me out for Chinese food, one of my favorites. Little did I know that while we were eating Joey was setting up a GoPro to record the whole thing but still make it personal just between me and him. Then he took me to a lookout point that overlooked the mountain range. It was breath taking. He asked me to dance with him to “This is it” by Scotty McCreery. That’s when I knew for sure he was going to ask. Once the song finished he got down on one knee and up to this point I had convinced myself that I was not going to cry. As soon as he actually asked I could not help but let the tears fall. It was the best moment of my life. The sun actually came out from behind the clouds when he got on one knee. It was incredible. He continues to make me feel like the only girl in the world.
October 7th 2018 It was a crazy Sunday morning, and when I say crazy... I mean CRAZY. I was finishing up preparing a devotional for my college life group. Oh yeah, I was also getting ready to make the biggest decision of my life, to propose to the love of my life; to my bestfriend. We went to church that morning and I tried to act normal, but the few people who knew about what was happening made me nervous as they kept asking about it. After church Casie and I went back to her dorm room to have lunch and play some games to pass the time. Then as planned I asked Joey, which is Casies best friend and roommate, if I could take Casie out on a date. After we left the college we went to a restaurant called China Fun (probably the best restaurant in Clarksville) for a dinner date. While we were at dinner Joey went to Strawberry Bluff (which is where Casie and I will end up for the big question) to set up a go-pro to record the whole thing. After dinner was over we started our journey up to Strawberry Bluff. Whenever we got there we went to the edge in front of the go-pro and I turned on the song “This is it” by Scotty McCreery and asked her to dance with me. We danced on the edge of the mountain overlooking a beautiful nature view. As the song was ending I got so nervous. I told her how much she has changed my life and how I never want to be without her. When the song ended I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. After she said “Yes” I don’t remember much of what else happened because I was so happy. I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with Casie and to see where God takes us in our lives together.
We love each other more than anything. Except Jesus. We will place our individual relationship with Christ before every aspect of our lives and learn to better love each other through the example that Jesus has set before us. The joy that we have found in this life and have established together will only continue to blossom. We love each other more than we knew possible and we are humbled to have found each other. We pray that everyone can someday find a love like we share.
