Daniel and I met back in the summer of 2017. I had moved from New Albany to Okolona the WEEK before we met, and we found out he had just moved into an apartment down the street from my New Albany apartment. Our first date was at Merle's Whiskey Kitchen downtown and my first impression was that he was way cuter than his pictures online! He was a little shorter than I had expected but I loved his chuck taylor's and cool guy style. We drank old fashioned's and ate fried chicken and tacos and talked about everything and anything under the sun. Hours had passed, and it flew by. I remember coming home from that date feeling so overwhelmed thinking Whoa.. this is gonna be something big.... We spent weekends at each other's places, even though it was about a 40 minute drive one way. After one year of dating, we decided to move in together and have lived at our place in St. Matthews ever since! It was an adjustment but it ended up getting to spend everyday with your best friend. We got two tiny kittens who are now 2 years old (Garlic & Gravy) and those boys really turned Daniel into a big softie! Daniel proposed to me June 1st, 2019 at our hotel in Lexington right before going to the Paul McCartney concert. He was going to propose during the concert, but got nervous that he would drop the ring or that security would find it and I would see. Instead, I was in the middle of doing my makeup at the hotel before the concert when there was a knock at the door. I opened it to a man in a suit with a flip phone camera in my face and a lady with a tray that had 2 champagne glasses and a bottle of champagne and a letter. I opened the letter and read it out loud and looked up to see Daniel down on one knee. The ring was in the glass of champagne so I chugged it and put the ring on my finger and said YES OF COURSE!
