What should I wear?

Answer

Think semi‑formal: suits or dress shirts with slacks, dresses of any length (short, midi, or floor length), or jumpsuits that are polished but not overly formal. Please no jeans.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend arriving about 15–20 minutes before the ceremony begins. This gives you plenty of time to park, find your seat, and settle in before the celebration starts. We’ll begin right on time and don’t want you to miss a moment.

How do I get to the reception?

Answer

The reception will take place in the Grand Ballroom at the Northern Center on Northern Michigan University's (NMU) campus. The Northern Center building and parking is near the corner of W Kaye Ave and Lee Dr in Marquette, MI. Online you may see the address listed as 1401 Presque Isle Ave. This is NMU's main address, and will not take you directly to the Northern Center. Typing in the "The Northern Center Marquette" in maps should take you to the correct location.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

We love celebrating with the people who are closest to us, so plus‑ones are reserved for specific guests. If you’ve been given a plus‑one, you’ll see an option to add your guest when you complete your online RSVP.

Are children (under 18) welcome?

Answer

Yes! Children who are invited will appear on your online RSVP, where you’ll be able to include them by name.

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Yes — we’ll have designated drivers available at the end of the reception to take you back to your home or hotel in the Marquette/Harvey area. Specific timing and pickup details will be shared closer to the wedding day. Vehicles can be left overnight in the Northern Center parking lots. We recommend picking up vehicles the following morning. Rideshares (Uber, Lyft, etc.) in Marquette are very limited, and most nights unavailable. Please do not count on these as a reliable form of transportation.
