How We Met

Our story started way back when we were just kids, around 7 or 8 years old. Kyle had moved from Florida and lived across the street from St. Rose Grammar School, where I went to school. Kyle went to Belmar Elementary, so we didn’t have classes together, but every summer our paths crossed on Belmar Beach, specifically 7th Ave, the family beach we both grew up on. Summers in Belmar were nothing short of perfect. Fast forward a little to Tall Oaks Farm. I learned to ride horses there, and as fate would have it, Kyle’s grandma, who everyone affectionately calls “Mima,” was my horseback riding instructor. I adored her. She made you feel safe, confident, and had the kind of spunk that was unmatched. Kyle remembers Tall Oaks too, where we bonded over cleaning horse stalls. For the record, I was definitely not volunteering to clean up horse poop. Over the years we kept crossing paths, but we each went our own way through our teenage years and early adulthood. And let’s be honest, every girl in Belmar was obsessed with “Kyle Baldwin.” My attitude at the time was, “If he liked me, he’d talk to me. Who cares!” Apparently, he did like me. When I was older, working as a badge checker on 18th Ave (yes, I strategically picked that beach to be near the cute lifeguards, which I thought was the ultimate dream job), Kyle had his eyes on me. Unfortunately, my older cousin, who is like a brother to me, told him, “Stay away from my baby cousin Victoria.” Lucky for me, Kyle didn’t exactly follow that advice. After many years, when we reconnected later in life, something clicked instantly. I realized there was something about that “Kyle Baldwin” every girl loved, and now I knew why. We became inseparable, constantly joking, keeping each other on our toes, and never stopping the laughter. I had finally found my best friend, someone who got my sarcasm, embraced it, and loved me just as I am. And then came Ayden. In 2024 we welcomed our sweet boy, who is the light of our lives. Becoming parents has made us better, stronger, and even more grateful. We truly feel like the luckiest people on earth to be surrounded by such loving family and friends. Our journey is just beginning, and we cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter with you. See you at the beach!
