Getting to Ios: Flights: The nearest airport is Santorini (JTR), from where you can take a ferry to Ios (35 mins - 1 hour). You can also fly into Athens (AIA), however ferry rides from Athens can range 3.5-7 hours. Direct ferries are available: From Santorini (Thira): Fastest route, taking 35–45 minutes. From Athens (Piraeus): Takes 4–7+ hours via Blue Star or SeaJets. From Athens (Rafina): Often faster, approx. 4.5 hours with Golden Star Ferries. From Naxos/Paros: Quick connections (approx. 1–2 hours). From Mykonos: Takes about 2–3 hours. From Kalymnos: Takes about 7.5 hours * It’s best to book tickets in advance, especially in the summer → Ferry tickets should be available from April/May 2027 (we recommend booking AFTER Easter of 2027)
