Like many couples, the COVID-19 pandemic completely upended our wedding plans. Since we can no longer have the large celebration with friends and family we were hoping for, we will be married in an intimate ceremony surrounded by our immediate families in Captain Cook on April 29, 2021. With rings on our fingers and vaccines in our arms, we'll be taking trips to the places around the country our friends and families live throughout the summer to celebrate our marriage with all of our loved ones.

We met just after moving from opposite coasts of the US to Bologna, Italy for graduate school. While we became quick friends, it wasn't until nearly three years later that, while dancing the night away (very well, might we add) to 90's covers at a concert in DC, we both realized that maybe we could be more than just friends.

Carl surprised Emily by proposing on a hike in Captain Cook, HI after we had spent the morning snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay. How he remained calm while storing our bags (with the ring!) in the brush Emily will never understand (he's too chill).
