Nicole and I had been discussing getting married for almost a year before I popped the question! We both knew that God had called us to be together but I had no problem waiting and making sure we had a strong foundation before marriage. She would often ask when I was going to do it, if I had a ring, where it would happen (as if I would tell you babe). Little did she know I had a plan but it took a lot of creativity when dodging her questions. I had the ring for over a month, as her best friend and I planned the engagement. Finally the day came. We left North Carolina at 5:00am on Thanksgiving Eve to make our dinner reservations at our favorite restaurant in Toledo, OH. We were going to spend the holiday weekend with her family, and I could tell on the drive up she was on to me. Thankfully, the drive was uneventful and we arrived on time. Nicole almost spoiled the surprise but luckily I sped us through dinner, quickly signed the check, and stole her phone just in case anyone in on the secret sent some premature messages. We walked across the street surrounded by Christmas lights and under a huge Christmas tree where I asked her to be my wife. Of course she said yes and to her surprise I had her family, best friend, and a photographer capture the moment. After a lot of hugs, we drove across town and continued the celebration with family and friends who came into town! The evening was perfect and we cannot be more excited for you to celebrate our day with us!
