Major changes and updates

Due to covid-19, we were forced to change ouroriginal wedding plans with only 6 months notice. Unfortunately it was far too dificult to organize, schedule, and book our wedding in Dominica as originally planned. We started looking at other islands in the caribbean, and decided on St. Lucia. We found the mos breathtakingly beautiful venue we could possibly find... the only downside, our original date was booked. 4.3.21 was not available and was far too difficult considering it is easter weekend. So we decided to move forward with our plans at our new location eith the changeof our date. Y just one week. Our legal anniversary date will be 4-3-21 as we are ciling our mariage license here in the states forour original date, but our ceremony and reception will be had on 4-10-21. We hope to share our special day with you all, and cant wait to enjoy our much needed vacation all together!

What would you do-oo-ooooo...

"For a Klondike baarrrrr?!?!" Followed up with a second snapchat of " what would you do-oo-ooooo.... If I said I had a crush on you?!?!" It had become routine to snapchat one another once everyone got home safely after a night out, and Sarah boldly made the first move. John pretended it hadn't happened, because he thought Sarah must have sent it to the wrong person. A few months later and many awkward outings together, John finally asked Sarah on a kayaking date. It began to rain as they paddled along riverbend, laughing hysterically at how hard it was raining, and just when Sarah thought he was going to lean in for a kiss (like in the movies) John's best friend called. Weeks later they made plans to meet at the boynton inlet to watch the blood moon, and drink blood orange beer. Here, they finally shared their first kiss. The two friends were enamoured with one another at that point and other friends soon began to notice they were inseparable. Her friends didn't go easy on him, but he quickly won them all over. His friends knew she was the one long before John accepted it. Four years later, on their trip to Oahu, John proposed to Sarah. Overlooking diamond head lookout, he used a ring pop decoy before kneeling on one knee to ask her to spend the rest of their lives together.

Our vision for our special day

We’ve chosen to do a destination wedding for a multitude of reasons. For starters, we want our family and friends to take more time for themselves and enjoy a vacation, because all too often we dont do that enough for ourselves. Years later, wouldn’t you just love to tell stories about that time you went to this remote island in the eastern caribbean for a wedding and relaxed on a secluded beach, went scuba diving, hiked through the rainforrest, went to boiling lakes, saw some sperm whales, and had the adventure of your life? Or would you rather tell stories about that one time you went to boring ole florida, during spring break, for a wedding where you danced to the chacha slide and went home with few memories and a crummy sunburn? Dominica holds close and dear to us for this is our way of honoring Larry Baker, John’s father, whom passed in 2008. He always told stories of this beautiful paradise and dreamt of the day he could take John and David to explore it’s magic. We know he’ll be celebrating with us on that day and we cant wait to fulfill dad’s dreams. We hope you’re all able to join us for our special day as we make promises to one another in a rainforrest surrounded by our dearest family and friends, all wearing a shade of blue. In lieu of a wedding party, we request all guests to wear a shade of blue, so each of you are honored as our wedding party. It means the world to us that you’ve chosen to come all this way, and we want you to feel as special as you make us feel!
