Ryan and Dani worked together at Martini's Bistro in Colorado. Dani had just moved to the area, but Ryan had been in Colorado for 12 years when they met. Ryan was going to CU Boulder, working on his Engineering Degree. Dani was pursuing a career and training in Holistic Health, and figured Boulder was the perfect hippy town. They were friends, and admirers, for two years before they became more than just friends, and their relationship took off as if they had been together forever.

May 20th, 2016 Dani sent her mom an email with her choice of stone for when she and Ryan were to be engaged. They had only been dating for a little over a year, but Dani knew she wanted her ring to come from Ryan. Dani chose Larimar because of the stone's meaning, "Eternal Love - Allows one to keep on loving where one has started loving.
