Alex proposed to me on Christmas Eve, 2023. I had just come home from school in Maine for winter break a week prior. He had told me I should get my nails done with my stepmom (Megan) and her mom (Josie). They had known about him planning to propose all along and helped set a date. When the day came to get my nails done I wasn’t sure what color or design I wanted, so I asked Alex if he had any ideas. He picked a gorgeous matte maroon with a rose gold swirl on the ring finger. I loved it, and that’s what I ended up getting! We were getting ready for Christmas pictures in front of the Christmas tree and when I came out to the living room Alex had told me I should move my promise ring to the right hand. I asked why but he didn’t really give me an answer, so I did. I was still clueless at this point that he was proposing despite all the signs lol. When we were taking pictures in front of the Christmas tree, he stopped and told me the branch from the tree was poking his back. I said what are you talking about just take the picture, but he was persistent on this “branch” that was poking him. That’s when he reached in the tree and pulled out a box and got down on one knee and proposed! I was shocked! I didn’t know what to say. I was at a loss of words. I kept asking if he was serious and started tearing up. I said YES! His mom got the whole proposal on video and afterwards he told me all he had done to plan the proposal. He got my parents permission, talked to my sister about when he was going to propose, planned with my stepmom to get my nails done, and even went on my wedding Pinterest board to see what style ring I liked! It was perfect! That evening, I got to tell his family we were engaged at Christmas dinner and everyone was so happy for us! Since we have gotten engaged I graduated, we moved into our own place, went on many trips together, and now we’re planning our wedding and life together! We cannot wait to celebrate the most important day of our lives with you!
