Question

Helpful travel info

Answer

CURRENT TRAVEL GUIDELINES & RESTRICTIONS: Things are constantly changing. Please do your research, so you have the most up-to-date information. COVID-19 TESTING: You'll need a negative COVID-19 test within three days (not 72 hours) of departure to fly back to the US from Mexico. Testing is available at the resort for free with a minimum stay of three nights. Book your test in advance when you check-in. FORMS: Bring pens! There will likely be multiple forms you'll need to complete when arriving at and departing from Mexico. I am a part of a Facebook group for Sandos Finisterra "fans," and multiple people have advised completing these forms on paper in case they don't accept electronic versions. PASSPORT: Check its expiration date! It'll likely need to be valid for six months past your return date.

Question

Helpful resort info

Answer

TIPPING: Please tip generously. I'm told staff prefers American dollars over Mexican pesos. We recommend getting a handful of $1, $5, and $10 dollar bills before you leave. ECO-FRIENDLY: Sandos Finisterra doesn't have straws. If you want a straw for your margaritas, bring a reusable one! Also, bring a thermal tumbler to keep your drinks cold and get bigger refills.

Question

Do I need to stay at the resort?

Answer

Yes, please! One of the mains reasons we chose a destination wedding was because we couldn't think of a better time than having all of our closest friends and family together for a few days. Sandos Finisterra also requires a high percentage of our wedding guests to stay at the resort. If you don't stay at the resort, there is a $100 USD per person per day fee to visit the resort, including the wedding. We are not budgeting for this expense. Please talk to us before booking elsewhere.
