I (Micah) had just moved to Columbus from Indiana the day before. My roommates at the time both graduated from the University of Kentucky, so we threw a Kentucky Derby party to celebrate the occasion. Luke wasn't even on the guest list, but he was in our friend group circle. So in true Luke fashion, he showed up anyway. We spent the day watching the Derby, playing True American (IYKYK), and spoon feeding everyone Annie's macaroni and cheese. Luke moved to Cleveland a few weeks later. TBH, he was forgettable. We had a group chat, but I didn't even have his number saved for at least a few months. We had a few short in-person interactions after this, but they mainly consisted of a friendly "hi". Fast forward to September 2018 where we reunited at a mutual friend's wedding. We reminisced about the Derby party fun and Luke’s vivid memory of sharing a couch cushion. Luke was in the process of moving back to Columbus later that week. He ended up moving to a street behind his best friend, Dylan. I happened to live on the same street as Dylan, about a block away. This prompted many mutual friend hangs, where we started to become closer. After a few weeks, he asked me if I wanted to take our dogs to the dog park. This later was established as our first date. After this, we continued to build our relationship - eventually moving in together and becoming a blended family with our two pooches. He’s since made himself unforgettable, and we’re excited to continue our lives together!
