Well, this story begins a little different — depending on who you ask. For me, Logan, I just had hand surgery and was at the end of the work week ready to get home to work in the yard. I was at my truck and saw an old friend walk out of the building, and so I started talking to her. And then BOOM.. out walks Julia. Honestly, my first thought was, “Wow Lord, are you really going to put this beautiful woman in my path when I have on a fresh cast and crocs?” We made eye contact, and when she smiled at me, I knew right then that I wanted to get to know her. I remember her confidence, her bright blue eyes, and the smile that she gave me with her little dimples. Long story short —the grass didn’t get mowed that Friday, and after two hours of sticking around and “helping” Julia set up for an event, I finally built up the courage to ask her on a date. What was supposed to be a coffee date, quickly turned into a six hour Downtown Charleston exploration, where we had conversations about family, the Lord, and each other’s dreams. BEST NIGHT EVER. Now, here we are one year later and I’m about to marry my best friend. Julia’s story is pretty similar.. other than the fact that she thought the whole thing WAS a set up…. Yeah — I was definitely convinced my coworkers and Logan were in on the whole thing. I wasn’t even supposed to be at Faith Church that day, but had decided to come and help set up for an event. I went outside and out popped this tall, handsome man smiling at me with his Jesus piercing eyes. The next thing I knew, my friend was running towards me asking me how tall I am and began raving about the incredible man I just saw. A few more coworkers chimed in about Logan and his family, and I knew from there that he was someone worth getting to know. I'm glad I did. It was no accident that we were at that place, at that moment. It’s funny that we both always said that we never wanted to be “set up” — but, it’s hard to argue when it’s orchestrated by the Lord.
