Petco Park
On July 10 and 12, 2026, the San Diego Padres are scheduled to play the Toronto Blue Jays at Petco Park. The games are scheduled to begin at 6:40 PM and 4:10 PM, respectively. Tickets are available at the website below, with prices starting from $47 to $51.
Balboa Park

San Diego Safari Park
The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is about 30 to 35 miles from the San Diego Zoo, which is a 45-minute to 1-hour drive depending on traffic. It is worth the drive if you have the time, though, as the Safari Park lets you get up close and personal with more than 3,600 animals. Seaport Village

Gaslamp Quarter
The Gaslamp Quarter is a historic neighborhood in downtown San Diego known for its nightlife. It extends from Broadway to Harbor Drive and from 4th to 6th Avenue. There is free street parking or paid parking lots and decks. Check out the website below for places to visit in the neighborhood.
Seal Rock
San Diego is famous for its seal and sea lion colonies. Paid street parking or lots in the surronding area but admission is free.
La Jolla Cove
The best time to snorkel in La Jolla Cove is in the summer. Waves are known to be calmer, which gives you more visibility underwater. Wetsuits are not necessary because the water will be warm.
Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is a coastal wilderness known for its cliffs, beaches, and Torrey pine trees. Check out the website below for admission fees, parking information, and hours of operation.
Annie's Canyon Trail
San Diego has tons of amazing trails to hike, but Annie’s Canyon Trail is unique. Close to Torrey Pines, this hike is 1.5 miles total, and most of it is flat with the exception of climbing up metal ladders inside the slot canyon to help hikers get to the top. Begin by parking at the end of Solana Hill Drive. Check the website below for hours of operation.
Sunset Cliffs Natural Park
Sunset Cliffs Natural Park is a popular place to watch the sunset while sitting atop cliffs 400 feet above the ocean. It is near where Jake went to undergraduate at Point Loma, and he loved surfing at Sunset Cliffs. For surfing, he suggests parking at the campus and walking down to the beach cove; in July, you should not need a wetsuit. Admission is free. Ocean Beach
In addition to Sunset Cliffs, Jake loves surfing at Ocean Beach. It is also one of the original dog beaches in San Diego. Free public bike, car, van, and RV parking is available in the 5156 W Point Loma Blvd Lot. Additional street parking available.
USS Midway Museum
The famous “Kissing Sailor” statue (also known by its official name: "Unconditional Surrender") is located just a few minutes drive from Seaport Village along the Bay outside the USS Midway Museum. The Museum, a 20th-century aircraft carrier, is interactive with restored aircraft, flight simulators, and a theater. Check out the website below for admission fees and hours of operations.
Mission Beach Boardwalk
Mission Beach Boardwalk runs along the beach with tons of shops, restaurants, and a few piers that allow you to walk hundreds of feet out into the ocean. You can try surf school in Mission Beach or Belmont Park is the heart of the beach neighborhood. Check out the website below for parking information.
Centennial Park
Centennial Park is a free, kid-friendly park with bay and skyline views, near the ferry landing, which boasts great local eateries and small shops. Parking at Coronado's Centennial Park is primarily free on-street parking available on nearby streets, especially Orange Avenue, but it can fill up quickly. There are also options for paid parking at the nearby ferry landing.
Birch Aquarium
