FAQs

Feel free to contact either of us with any additional questions that aren't answered in the FAQ below. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is "Garden Party" (fun semi-formal) and we encourage you to get a little creative and colorful with your wedding attire (jacket and tie completely optional). The reception space is on concrete, however the ceremony space is on grass.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

Our venue has plenty of parking for everyone! Simply follow the road to the end, past the gate and you will end up in the parking lot. Please no parking on the soccer field!

Question

Will the wedding/reception be indoor or outdoors?

Answer

Hopefully outdoors, near the beautiful river! However, we do have a space inside avaliable for us to use if mother nature works against us. It is going to be May afterall!

Question

Should we stay at a hotel the night of the wedding?

Answer

We think so! While we encourage everyone to have fun at our wedding, we would like everyone to be safe. Our venue has numerous hotels at the end of the road, less than a mile away, if you wish to stay closer to the venue the night of. Hampton Inn & Suites (180 Rockridge Rd, Englewood, OH 45322) has set a block of rooms aside at a discounted rate for anyone wishing to stay there that night. You can either follow the link below to book a room or call the hotel at 937-832-3333 and mention that it is for the Thurston Wedding on May 18th. https://www.hilton.com/en/book/reservation/rooms/?ctyhocn=DAYAPHX&arrivalDate=2024-05-18&departureDate=2024-05-19&groupCode=CHH908&room1NumAdults=1&cid=OM%2CWW%2CHILTONLINK%2CEN%2CDirectLink

Question

What time will the wedding reception end?

Answer

We are planning for the reception to end at 11pm in order to allow plenty of time for cleanup.

Question

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Answer

For the ceremony we are asking all the guests to observe an "unplugged ceremony" with no cell phones or devices out, allowing our wonderful photographer, Arrie, to be able to capture the best pictures with no interference from flashes or screens. However, for the reception we would love anyone and everyone to take as many pictures as they want! We will have a digital dropbox avaliable for everyone to share their favorite pictures from the evening!
