We ran into each other on the sidewalk during our first year in college. He said, "Nice hair." I said, "You too...." as a friend of mine and I laughingly walked away....His dreads were pretty new, and actually quite "dreadful". He eventually found me later at the coffee shop on campus, and smoothly asked me for my number so that I could fix his dreads. Well, the rest is history as we went through 3 years of friendship and now 2.5 years of dating. The hair, ironically, is what brough us together!

This kid romantically took me ice skating for New Years Eve. He was actually sick all day, but a friend who knew the scoop practically forced us to still go, claiming, "How can you not dress up and go out for New Years?" Grudgingly, I agreed. It was unbelievably cold - there was an orchestrated couples skate - NOBODY WAS ON THE ICE - I wanted to go warm up - He said, "No! we have to go out there" - No one followed...He suavely pulled me around the ice and into the middle. - There was a sign, a man gracefully down on one knee, a crowd of onlookers, and a ring of promise beyond my imagination. But my best friend asking me to spend the rest of my life with him was really the best part. <3
