Many people who know us know that we've been together ever since we were little kids. We first met at the Marrero Lions Club before Hurricane Katrina, and grew up sharing a church home at Fifth African Baptist Church. From the youth ushers to Sunday School, we formed a friendship. As time progressed, friendship turned into something more, and on September 4, 2013, we both took a chance and started dating. It was new, we were awkward, but before we knew it, we were growing closer and soon life without the other didn't seem imaginable. From high school to college, we were there for each other. For every accomplishment, loss, moment of victory, and moment of pain, we stayed strong and stood behind the other person in support. We grew as a couple and as individuals as we navigated into adulthood. We found careers in teaching and continued with our passions for writing and music. Now, here we are thirteen years later, still growing, changing, learning about each other, and yes, still lucky in love. As we prepare to take this next step in holy matrimony, we hope that our adventures never cease, and that as time goes on, we'll look back on it all with fondness, knowing that we wouldn't change a thing.
