Home to the Atlanta Braves since April 2017; this is a live-work-play community where there is always something to do. This was one of our favorite areas to hang out pre-baby and we still like to go when we get the chance. The Braves are unfortunately away (@ The Marlins) during the weekend of our wedding, but there is always activity at the Battery whether or not there is a Braves game happening that day.
Georgia Aquarium is home to hundreds of species and thousands of animals (including whale sharks!) across its seven major galleries, all of which reside in more than 10 million US gallons of fresh and salt water. It was the largest aquarium in the world from its opening in 2005 until 2012. A great place for kids! Part of Atlanta's CityPass, which also includes the World of Coca-Cola, Zoo Atlanta, the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, and the College Football Hall of Fame.
One of our favorite breweries! Great sours, IPAs, and stouts! If you’re in the mood for IPAs, Justin likes A Night on Ponce, Rowdy and Proud, almost any of their stouts, and Rowdier and Proudier. If you're in the mood for a sour, Sara like Saporous and Rapturous.
Another one of our favorite breweries, closer to our apartment (in east Roswell / Alpharetta). Great stouts and sours! Try the Mocha Crazy Grandma (or any dark beer), the Johnny Cashmere, Norcross St IPA, or pretty much anything else!
A really fun shopping / upscale bank of diverse restaurants. The rooftop ($15 per person to get up) also has some of the best views of Atlanta, as well as another restaurant, bar, some arcade games, and mini golf. One option to sidestep the rooftop entrance fee is to book an online reservation at the rooftop restaurant, 9 Mile Station. You have to pay to make a reservation, but that fee is credited back to your restaurant bill in full. Please note The Roof (9 Mile Station, RFD Social and Skyline Park) is 21+ after 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays. https://www.9milestation.com/plan-your-visit
