FAQs

Question

Are children allowed at the ceremony/reception?

Answer

Whilst we adore ALL the children of our family and friends, we are only able to accommodate those specifically named on your invitation due to limited space. At this time, we will not be hosting anyone under the age of 18. We respectfully ask that you treat this as a "night off" and plan accordingly for child-care. Thank you for your understanding! <3

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code is Black-Tie-Optional. Visit the link below for clarification regarding appropriate attire and inspiration. Please avoid wearing any shades of white and/or bright/neon colors. Please keep in mind, the ceremony will be held outside. We recommend bringing a sweater and/or a warm jacket, since Virginia weather can be chilly in mid-November. For our guests serving in the military, please do not wear your dress uniforms unless informed otherwise. Respectfully, anyone who arrives in inappropriate attire will no longer be invited to attend the formal ceremony (e.g., denim, polos, shorts, shades of white, etc.). Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at Great Marsh Estate by 2:30-2:45 pm to allow plenty of time for parking and seating. We recommend arriving early to mingle, sign our guest book, and choose your preferred seat without having to rush! The procession will begin promptly at 3:00 pm. If you are late, you may be asked to wait until a pause in the ceremony to find your seat in order to reduce any interruptions. In addition, we cannot guarantee that your preferred seat will be available.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We will be hosting an "unplugged" ceremony to encourage all guests to be present with us in our special moment. An announcement will be made as a reminder for all phones/electronics to be silenced and put away somewhere safe. Not to worry! Our amazing photographer will ensure each special moment is captured. We would love to see all the faces of our closest friends and family in these pictures, not their phones!

Question

Can I bring a guest/date?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those who are formally addressed on your invitation. If you have received a plus-one, this will appear on your invitation when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!

Question

By what date do I need to accept/decline my invitation?

Answer

Please RSVP by 10/13/2026 by clicking the RSVP section in the menu listed above. If you do not RSVP by this date, we will have to assume that you are not attending. Your spot may be offered to someone else if this is the case. If you experience any technical difficulties with your RSVP, please contact Christian or Julia as soon as possible! Please do not confirm unless you are sure you will make it a priority to attend our special day. We understand that life happens! Please let us know if anything changes as the wedding date approaches.

Question

What do I do if I cannot make it?

Answer

We completely understand, you will be dearly missed. Please don't hesitate to let us know as soon as possible so we may plan accordingly. Thank you for your time and honesty!

Question

Am I able to park at the venue?

Answer

Yes! We will have ample parking for all guests that attend. The parking lot is a short walk from the manor where the ceremony will be held. However, golf cart transportation will be available for those with limited mobility. Vehicles may be left overnight, however, they must be picked up the next morning by 11am.
